Mara Serena Lodge

The Mara Serena Lodge has a spectacular view of the surrounding landscape.

The lodge draws its design inspiration from the traditional Maasai homestead, composed of Manyattas, domed mud huts encircled to form a "Boma" or cluster of huts.

The result is a modern yet wonderfully traditional looking lodge that blends in with the surroundings.

It is on this very terrain where the great annual migration takes place, when millions of wildebeest, zebra and gazelle traverse the landscape to feed on rich new grass and give birth to their young calves.

Location:

Mara Serena Lodge is located in the mid north western part of Masai Mara National Reserve. The lodge is popular withdiscerning travellers due to superb views from the hill top location of the lodge, overlooking the vast Mara plains below.

The Lodge is about 350 km from Nairobi, or 45 minutes flight from Nairobi Wilson Airport.

Masai Mara National Reserve is home to gazelle, wildebeest, zebra, giraffe, elephant, buffalo, cheetah, leopard, the legendary black-manned lion and many more.

The lodge features rooms each with a private balcony looking out towards the wildlife rich plains. The rooms are compact, in order to be eco friendly, but are comfortable and spacious enough due to their thoughtful design.

Facilities at Mara Serena Lodge:

  • Outdoor pool with lounge chairs, tables, umbrellas and fresh towels.

  • Communication available via telephone, fax and radio.

  • Secretarial service available upon request.

  • Currency exchange open 24 hours.

  • Nurse on call 24 hours. Flying Doctors Service is also available which includes emergency Medivac to hospital from nearby airstrip.

  • Daily laundry/pressing service.

  • Babysitting can usually be arranged with sufficient notice.
  • Early supper for children upon request.

  • Boutique with curios, clothing, jewelry, batiks, books, maps, lotions, films, stamps etc.

  • Shoe shining.

  • Lunch boxes, fruits, flowers and celebration cakes may be ordered.
