Kenya Visa Requirements

Most visitors to Kenya need to obtain a visa including Europeans, Americans and nationals from Commonwealth countries such as New Zealand, Canada, Australia, and the UK.

Visa Requirements:

  • A valid passport with at least one unused page for endorsement.
  • It should be valid for at least three months at the date of entry to Kenya.
  • A completed Visa application form
  • One recent passport size photo.
  • Travel itinerary or business letter.
  • A stamped self addressed envelope preferably special delivery (for postal applications).
  • Indicate your daytime telephone number.

    Types of Visas:

  • Multiple entry visa (1 Year)
  • Single entry visa (up to three months from date of issue)
  • Transit Visa

    Visas are not required for persons of the following nationalities: The Bahamas, Barbados, Botswana, Brunei, Burundi, Cyprus, Dominica, Fiji, the Gambia, Grenada, Grenadines, Ghana, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Jamaica, Lesotho, Malawi, Mauritius, Maldives, Namibia, Nauru, Rwanda, Papua New Guinea, St.Lucia, St.Vincent & the Grenadines, Samoa, San Marino, the Seychelles, Singapore, Swaziland, Tanzania, Tonga, Trinidad & Tobago, Tuvalu, Uganda, Uruguay, Vanuatu, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

    Nationals of the following countries require referred visas – applications are sent to Nairobi for approval: Afghanistan, Armenia, Iraq, Lebanon, Mali, North Korea, Tajikistan, Senegal, Somali, Syria, Jordan, Nigeria, Cameroon and Azerbaijan.

    If you are planning on visiting just Kenya, a single-entry visa is all you need. If your travel plans include visiting Uganda or Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro or visit the Serengeti, then you will need a multiple-entry visa if you wish to re-enter Kenya again.
